Media Advisory - Canadian Somali Congress and Canadian International Peace Project to Issue Statement on Severe Drought in East Africa

    OTTAWA, Feb. 25 /CNW Telbec/ - The Canadian Somali Congress and the
Canadian International Peace Project in conjunction with various national
organizations will hold a press conference on Tuesday February 28, 2006 to
issue a joint statement regarding the plight of millions of people facing
severe drought conditions in Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Djibouti.

    WHO: Mohamed Kassim, President of the Canadian Somali Congress,
         Mark Persaud, Chairman and CEO of the Canadian International Peace          Project, former parliamentarian and CIPP Governor David Kilgour,
         and representatives from the Canadian Jewish Congress and Assembly          of First Nations. MPs Borys Wrzesnewskyj, who undertook a fact-          finding mission to Somalia last year, and Liberal Foreign Affairs          Critic, Stephane Dion will also be in attendance.
